Iceland Responsible Fisheries Management Certification Programme
The Icelandic Responsible Fisheries Management Certification Programme has been developed in accordance with international law and the
- UN Food and Agriculture Organization – FAO - Code of Conduct for Reponsible Fisheries (CCRF)
as well as
- The FAO Guidelines for the Ecolabeling for Fish and Fishery Products.
The CCRF Code is global in scope and has been adopted by most fishing nations of the world.
Our Icelandic processsing unit has been certified under the Iceland Responsible Fisheries Management Certification Programme.
All our Icelandic products are labelled with the corresponding Iceland Responsible Fisheries logo.
The government of the Faroe Islands allocates significant resources to secure a controlled and sustainable utilization of fish stocks. This is achieved by a string of different legal measures.
The Faroese fishery policy is based on:
- marine research done by our Marine Research Institute
- research results provided by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES).
All our Faroese products are labelled with the Faroese Responsible Fisheries logo.
